BUNGLE BUNGLE HELICOPTER FLIGHTS

Depart Purnululu airstrip for the south west tip of the massif where you will view Y Gorge before flying across the top of the massif to the mouth of spectacular Piccaninny Gorge.
Fly along the southern face following Picaninny Creek where you can view and photograph Cathedral Gorge and the famous orange and black striped beehive shaped domes.

Depart Purnululu airstrip for the south west tip of the massif to view Y Gorge, Deep Gorge and ‘The Twins’. Continue on to the highest point of the Bungle Bungle and the spectacular Red Rock Gorges of the north-west. Your helicopter then tracks towards the eastern side of the massif, to encounter incredible eroded sandstone formations and a maze of gorges.  Fly along the southern face to the mouth of Picaninny Gorge, follow Picaninny Creek to view and photograph Cathedral Gorge and the famous orange and black striped beehive shaped domes.

Purnululu National Park General Information

The World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park is the first national Park in the Kimberley to be jointly managed by the Aboriginal Traditional owners and the Department of Environment and Conservation ( DEC).

DEC and the Traditional Owners form a park council which meets regularly to consider matters associated with the use and management of the park. The system of joint management acknowledges the Aboriginal people’s traditional responsibility for care of the country and the wellbeing of visitors.

Heliwork WA , one of many licensed operators within Purnululu, needs to implement and continually improve on sustainability principles within the park as part of our licensing conditions. This is to ensure that future generations will enjoy the beauty of this unique landscape and protect the natural area. We are the only helicopter operator in Purnululu and our operations are conducted in a manner which enhances visitor experiences and preserves park values.

Heliwork WA, together with each of our passengers, is further contributing to the management of Purnululu in a financial capacity. An agreed portion of each fare is paid to the Department of Environment and Conservation.
